"Darshan's new post goes viral: It's not right for us to do what others are doing"

'Sandalwood Queen' Ramya has already lodged a complaint with the police about the obscene messages and life threats she received from actor Darshan's fans. Meanwhile, actor Darshan Thoogudeepa's Facebook post of a symbolic message to his fans 10 years ago is now going viral on social media.

"If you are a true fan of mine, stay away from the work of abusing other artists. It hurts me. It is not right for us to do the same as others do. Love everyone and encourage Kannada cinema," Darshan had appealed to his fans. The post was published on December 28, 2015 and has been shared over 7,000 times. Ramya has filed a police complaint after some social media users claiming to be the same fans allegedly sent obscene messages and threatening messages to her. He has also sought action against 43 Instagram accounts.

Darshan is yet to comment on the case. As a result, Ramya demanded that "she should warn her fans". As soon as the old post went viral, many were of the opinion that "Darshan has given a good message, but his fans are not following it". There is also a debate on the moral responsibility and social impact of artists in such cases. Further investigations will reveal whether it was Darshan's fans or someone else who sent the obscene message.
