"Kannada cinema is becoming a home without elders": Umashree's tearful tribute to Sarojadevi's Death

Veteran actress and MLC Umashree is the son of veteran actress B. Emotional about Saroja Devi's demise. Speaking to the media after paying her last respects to Sarojamma, Umashree said, "She is the pole star of South India, a symbol of discipline, a role model for generations. Such an elderly life should have been with us. But we lost it. Kannada cinema is now becoming a house without elders," he said.
"Saroja Devi's achievements are unparalleled. He is a recipient of Padma Bhushan, various state awards and doctorates and is the pride of Kannada film industry," umashree said. "May his soul rest in peace. May the family have the strength to bear the pain."
