B. Saroja Devi's funeral tomorrow at Dashavaram, Channapatna

Veteran actress B. Saraswathi, popularly known as Abhinaya Saraswathi. Saroja Devi (87) passed away today (July 14). The funeral will be held on Tuesday (July 15) as per Vokkaliga traditions near Kanva Dam in Dasavar, Channapatna. The last rites will be performed at his residence in Bengaluru till 11.30 am tomorrow, his son Gautam said. The body will then be sent to Channapatna.
Saroja Devi made her acting debut in 1955 with the film Mahakavi Kalidasa and has acted in more than 200 films. She has acted in kannada, tamil, telugu, hindi and many other languages and contributed immensely to indian cinema. He is a Padma Bhushan awardee. She has acted with many stalwarts including Rajkumar, MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, Dileep Kumar and many others. His demise has left a void in the Kannada film industry.
