The allegations against actor Darshan and Pavithra Gowda in the Renukaswamy murder case have taken a more serious turn. During the hearing before the apex court, the government's counsel Sidharth Luthra presented the details of the case. Luthra revealed that Pavithra Gowda and Darshan were in a live-in relationship and told the court that it was in this regard that Pavithra and Darshan got angry and turned to murder after Renukaswamy sent an indecent message in this regard.

Renukaswamy was kidnapped from Chitradurga and brought to Pattanagere shed in Bengaluru. Also, the fatal assault was carried out using an iron rod, stick and electric shock. CCTV footage of the incident, digital evidence, telephone conversations, and DNA reports reinforce the murder incident. Scientific investigations have also revealed that Pavithra Gowda was hit with a slipper, Darshan was kicked in the chest, and after the murder, the photo was taken and sent to Pavithra and later deleted. Luthra said the three-minute video of the murder, a lathi with blood stains, clothes, etc., also had concrete evidence.

Questions have also been raised against Darshan, who is out on bail, indulging in shooting, foreign travel and public events instead of going to the hospital. Though the chargesheet is yet to be filed, there is enough evidence, the lawyer said. The Supreme Court verdict is yet to come out, but the state government has strongly argued for cancellation of bail in view of the seriousness of the case. The case is likely to lead to intense political and social debate in the coming days.
