Alia Bhatt cheated of Rs 77 lakh: Betrayal by personal assistant!

Bollywood actress and producer Alia Bhatt has been accused of duping her of Rs 77 lakh by her personal assistant. Vedhika Prakash Shetty, 32, from Bengaluru, was working as Alia Bhatt's personal assistant from 2021 to 2024. During this period, Alia was looking after her personal affairs and the financial affairs of production house Eternal Sunshine. According to a complaint lodged by Alia Bhatt's mother Soni Razdan with the Juhu police station in Mumbai, Vedika cheated her of Rs 76.9 lakh between 2022 and 2024 by forging bills, forgery of signatures and misusing her trust. He first transferred the money to his girlfriend's account and then changed the course of the money in such a way that it was brought to his account.

Vedika fled as soon as the incident came to light. The police recently arrested him from Bengaluru city after a five-month investigation. He has been in police custody till July 20 as per the court order. The investigation against them is continuing on charges of corporate fraud, forgery of documents, breach of trust, etc.

Alia Bhatt has produced films like 'Darlings' and 'Jigra' through her production house Eternal Sunshine. She is currently shooting for 'Love and War' with husband Ranbir Kapoor and an action film titled 'Alpha'.

The incident has sparked a debate on security and trust issues in the film industry, with the actors' close circles suggesting that the process of misusing trust requires stringent action.
