Veteran Kannada actress and multilingual actress B. Saroja Devi has given meaning to her life even after her death. The eyes he donated will now give light to two blind people. This is a unique example of social commitment from him, popularly known as 'Abhinaya Saraswati'.

Saroja Devi passed away on July 14, 2024, at 8.00 am at her residence in Bengaluru, at the age of 87. But, the eye donation he did even after his death, gives a light of faith to thousands of blind people. The eyes were obtained by the doctors of Narayana Nethralaya and they are undergoing counselling for treatment.

She acted in hundreds of Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam films for 60 years and earned the title of the first lady superstar of Indian cinema.

Abhinaya Saraswathi's last rites will be performed on July 15 at her farm near Kanva Dam in Channapatna taluk as per Vokkaliga traditions. Film personalities, fans and politicians are paying their last respects to the departed soul. b. Saroja Devi has taught a lesson even in her death – 'When you leave this world, you can give light to the lives of others, at least in the form of an eye'. The hope that this path of his will inspire more people to donate their eyes is a fitting tribute to his samskara.
