In a video posted on YouTube, Swarna claimed that she was not paid the full remuneration for her performance in the film. "I have worked hard in the film. He agreed to pay Rs 48,000 but paid only Rs 35,000. That too came after a lot of pressure," he said.

Director Sreeraj has now filed a complaint against his co-star Swarna. In her complaint filed at the Talaghattapura police station, she said, "Swarna's statements have caused personal defamation. Yash's mother Pushpa Arun Kumar's production house has also been defamed.

The police have registered a non-cognizable report (NCR) in connection with the case. In his complaint, director Sreeraj said that he has submitted the documents that have already been paid to the artistes. But the matter has not been resolved as per any agreement. Thus, this legal battle is likely to intensify.

In the video, Swarna wrote, "I am the daughter of a single parent. Lakhs of rupees are not being asked. "Some people are making false allegations against the artistes because Yash's mother is a producer," he said. "I have raised my voice with the intention of getting justice for our film," he said.

He has also blamed the director's family. "They have done me injustice, I don't have proof. But karma will not spare them," he said. The controversy surrounding the film 'Kottalavadi' is not over yet. On the one hand, the artists are fighting for their payments, while on the other hand, the directors are filing defamation cases. The NCR has already been registered. Only time will tell in which direction this legal battle will take in the future.
