Supreme Court orders relocation of street dogs – Kichcha Sudeep's heart-warming message

In the wake of rising dog attacks in Delhi, the Supreme Court on August 11 passed a landmark order. As per that order, it was directed that all stray dogs in Delhi should be evacuated and accommodated in shelters. The verdict led to a huge debate across the country. While conflicting opinions were circulating on social media, animal lovers criticised it as inhuman. On the other hand, some circles have welcomed it as a necessary measure for public safety.
In this context, popular Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeep has shared his opinion. "I don't question the Supreme Court's decision to shift stray dogs in New Delhi, but what impact this decision may have on the health of dogs and their lifecycle is worrying. Street dogs have the right to live independently. It is not right to take away their freedom."
Sharing his childhood memories, Sudeep said, "Our family has adopted and reared many stray dogs. Their love and loyalty are immense. If we make up our mind, we can lovingly give a home to street dogs. Let us be the voice of voiceless creatures." Raj B Shetty also shared his heartfelt opinion. Sharing a few photos of herself with the dogs, she wrote,
"Dogs are creatures that comfort me. They have the power to heal pain. Everyone has the right to live. I hope the Supreme Court reconsiders this verdict." Both the artists have reminded them of the importance of animal rights, humanity and compassion through their words. The issue has now become a big debate on human-animal symbiosis, not just a legal decision.
