Vijayalakshmi continues Darshan's legacy despite being in jail – cooker gift to Mavutha's family!

Mysuru Dasara is a festival of elephants, jumboo savari and celebrations. But the real force behind this festival is the mahouts and their families. This year, actor Darshan's wife Vijayalakshmi Darshan has not forgotten the mahout's family even though he is in jail.

Vijayalakshmi gifted cookers to more than 60 families of gajapada mahouts camping at the Mysore Palace premises. In addition, he arranged food for the families. The mahouts came one by one and received a cooker from Vijayalakshmi. Actor Dhanvir was also present on the occasion.

Everyone knows that Darshan has come to Mysore many times and helped the mahouts. Though she is now absent, Vijayalakshmi's continuation of that legacy has won the hearts of her fans. Darshan's mother was also happy to see the elephants in the palace premises.

This year's Mysuru Dasara festival will be held from Sept. 22 to Oct. 2. Two teams of 14 elephants participating in the procession have already reached the palace premises. Though Darshan is in jail, vijayalakshmi's humanitarian gesture has been hugely appreciated by her fans. By being with the mahouts' family, he has made Dasara celebrations even more meaningful.
