Attack on journalists in Dharmasthala: Rajat and Prakash Raj strongly condemn

Tension prevailed in Dharmasthala for the past few days in the wake of the investigation into the soujanya murder case. As the search for the body was underway, several media persons and YouTubers were staying at the spot and reporting. But on August 6, a disturbing incident took place when journalists and YouTubers were attacked by miscreants.

Former Bigg Boss contestant Rajat Kishan visited Dharmasthala and then went to Soujanya's house to meet her mother. On his way back, some YouTubers stopped the car on the way and sought a response from Rajat. Suddenly, some unidentified persons came and attacked journalists and YouTubers. "They grabbed what they got in their hands and started beating them," Rajat told the media.

Condemning the attack, Rajat said, "I was reacting when suddenly people came and started attacking me. This is completely unexpected," he said. He also shared his opinion that a complaint should be lodged with the police about the incident.

Multilingual actor Prakash Raj has expressed his strong condemnation by posting a video on X (old Twitter). "The attack on media friends who were performing their duties in Dharmasthala is condemnable. It is because of such goondas that Dharmasthala, which devotees believe, is being tarnished. Why are they angry if they ask for justice for Soujanya's murder? Please arrest me and bring out the truth." "It is our duty and right to ask for justice", "It is because of such goons that Dharmasthala is getting a bad name", "Who is behind them? Whose orders are they hitting? We need answers to these questions."

This incident is not just an attack on journalists, it is a direct attack on freedom of expression. While the public wants the truth of the soujanya killing to come out, such atrocities only deepen the suspicions.
As Prakash Raj said, the goons should be arrested immediately and who is behind them should be ascertained.
