"I have a daughter, don't cancel her bail" – Pavithra Gowda's emotional plea to the Supreme Court!

At a time when the Renuka Swamy murder case has sparked a huge debate across the state, the state government has challenged in the Supreme Court the bail granted by the Karnataka High Court to the main accused actors Darshan Thoogudeepa and Pavithra Gowda. Pavithra Gowda's lawyer has submitted a written request to the Supreme Court that the bail should not be cancelled.
The state government's argument is that Pavithra Gowda played a key role in the abduction and murder of Renuka Swamy. However, Pavithra Gowda's lawyer has denied all the allegations. He had earlier mentioned the fact that he was sexually harassed by Renuka Swamy. According to Pavithra Gowda's lawyer, there was no communication between her with the other accused on the day of the incident. The prosecution has failed to prove that Pavithra Gowda had no role in the kidnapping and murder. The post-mortem report also mentioned that there was no possibility of any injuries to the body from Pavithra Gowda.
In her plea, Pavithra Gowda said, "I am a single parent, my daughter studying in Class 10, my elderly parents and I am the support of all of them. I don't have any criminal background. Cancelling bail on the ground that I am a woman would be a harsh and unjust step."
Pavithra Gowda, who spent several months in jail in connection with the case, was later released on bail and resumed her fashion design studio. But now if his bail is cancelled again, he is likely to be sent to judicial custody again. The written plea filed by Pavithra Gowda is a mixture of legal and humanitarian aspects. The Supreme Court has to consider the reasons given by them and give a final verdict. This judgment may become a decisive role model not only for this case but also for such cases in the future.
