Darshan's bail should not be cancelled - Lawyers submit written reasons to Supreme Court

The Renuka Swamy murder case is currently in the news in Karnataka. After the Karnataka High Court granted bail to actor Darshan Thoogudeep, the main accused in the case, the state government has moved the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of his bail. Now, Darshan's lawyer has submitted written reasons to the Supreme Court not to cancel his bail. The documents mention several important points which will add a new dimension to the judicial debate.
According to the lawyer, Darshan was arrested in Mysuru and an FIR was registered in Bengaluru. No reasons were given in writing till 6:30 pm at the time of arrest. He argued that this was a violation of the law. Darshan's lawyer has rejected most of the allegations, saying there was no direct evidence to prove that Darshan had instructed the abduction. He claimed that there was suspicion on the statements of witnesses Kiran, Mallikarjun and Narendra Singh.
Kiran's statement was recorded only seven days after the incident and neither Mallikarjun nor Narendra Singh mentioned Darshan's name in the court. The credibility of the evidence on the basis of these is questionable. Though the state government has claimed that a "three-second video" exists, according to the lawyer, the video is not mentioned in the chargesheet or in the documents submitted to the high court. As a result, it is not fair to use this evidence as evidence.
The lawyer clarified that Darshan had not violated any bail conditions and indicated that strict action would be taken if his bail was cancelled. The Supreme Court will deliver a crucial verdict on the cancellation of Darshan's bail in the coming days. The state government's arguments and darshan's lawyer's written reasons are under the consideration of the court. As the crucial stage in the case approaches, the attention of the film audience in the country is also focused on this.
