"Darshan was supposed to be a rowdy, but he turned out to be a hero"; D Boss fans attack content creator Sonu!

One of the topics that has become a big topic of discussion on Kannada social media recently is the intense response from actor Darshan's fans to content creator Sonu Shetty. Sonu Shetty's comment that "Darshan should have been a rowdy, appi-thappa has become a hero" has sparked a huge controversy. Angered by the statement, fans have responded with obscene messages, threats and nasty comments.

Sonu Shetty revealed the news on his social media account and clarified that he is not one to promote using Darshan's name. He also shared a video showing details of obscene and abusive messages received in his inbox and comment boxes. The fact that he has now turned off his comment box is a clear sign – how severe the situation is. A similar incident has taken place in the past when actress and former MP Ramya had received obscene messages from Darshan's fans after she expressed her direct opinion. The recent renuka swamy murder case has left some fans in splits. Four people have already been arrested on the basis of ramya's complaint in this regard.

While there is a right to protest, expressing anger in scolding and abusive terms is against the culture of democracy. One may be a fan of an actor, but no one has the right to abuse others in the name of fancy. Even if the actors do not respond in their favour, if fans who target others in their name reach the point of committing atrocities, it becomes a socially alarming development.

Social media, though a platform for sharing opinions, scolding and hating it is inexcusable. Every fan has the right to express his love for them, but with that comes responsibility. The need of the hour is to strike a balance between the two characters, the fan and the citizen.
