From the time behind the arrest of star actor Darshan in the Renukaswamy murder case, to his re-imprisonment, IPS officer B. Sudhakar has been arrested. Dayanand's role is very important.

The decision to arrest Darshan on murder charges was taken by the then Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Sudhakar, keeping aside his mass hero, huge fan base and political influence. Dayanand had taken it. They investigated the case in depth in which the orphaned body was found and found evidence that Darshan was directly involved in the murder of Renukaswamy. Despite the fear of a scuffle during the arrest operation, Dayanand gave the green signal to ACP Chandan and his team without any hesitation. The police acted vigilantly to ensure that Darshan did not get a chance to use his closeness with influential political leaders.

To ensure that there is no political hurdle in Darshan's arrest, Dayanand himself briefed CM Siddaramaiah and the Home Minister with photo and video evidence of the case. With his permission, he was given the lead in arrest. After the High Court granted bail to Darshan, Dayanand had also decided to appeal to the Supreme Court. As a result, the Supreme Court recently cancelled the bail of all the accused.

Present b. Dayanand is the ADGP of prisons in the state. Therefore, it is his responsibility to ensure that Darshan does not get any royalty once he is back in jail. Darshan is likely to be sent to Ballari jail. Dayanand will keep an eye on the jail life to be strict.

From Darshan's arrest to his imprisonment, B. Dayanand and ACP Chandan have turned out to be the major nightmares in the case. The seven accused, including Darshan, Pavithra Gowda and Pradosh, will now have to break the jail till the court verdict.
