Kannada superstar Upendra and his wife Priyanka Upendra have been caught by cyber fraudsters. The fraudsters hacked their mobile numbers and duped them of lakhs of rupees by asking for emergency help through WhatsApp to their acquaintances. Even more shockingly, Upendra's son Ayush also fell prey to the fraudsters and lost Rs 55,000.

Speaking to reporters after filing a complaint at Sadashivanagar police station, Upendra said, "Priyanka received a call from a number. You have ordered something, you need its address. He also asked them to call the number with the star and hash. Since Priyanka couldn't do it, we tried my phone and manager Madhava's phone. After that, the mobile phones of the three were hacked," Upendra said.

What happened after the hack? After the hack, Upendra and Priyanka's phones started sending messages asking for urgent financial help from their acquaintances. "Send Rs 55,000 urgently" messages were sent to friends. Since they couldn't be contacted on the phone, some people thought there might be some emergency and actually sent money.

Upendra's son Ayush also lost Rs 55,000 in the same fraud. Upendra warned the public: "If you receive such messages, no one should send money. This is the act of the thieves. My son has also been deceived. Lakhs of rupees have been lost even to my friends. More information is yet to emerge from the investigation," he said.
